Curious about mystery dice bundles? This guide explains what's inside, how much value you get, and who should buy one.
Quick answer
A mystery dice bag is a curated bundle of dice sets and accessories chosen by the Misty Mountain Gaming team, delivering a guaranteed value above the price you pay. You won't know the exact contents until it arrives, but you can expect a mix of full dice sets, storage, and extras that match the bundle's tier.
Why buy a mystery dice bundle?
The main appeal is the surprise and value. Each bundle is hand-picked by the MMG team, so you get a curated selection without having to decide. The value guarantee means you're getting more than you pay for, making it a smart way to expand your collection or try new dice styles.
What are the trade-offs?
The biggest trade-off is the lack of control. You can't choose colors, materials, or specific dice sets. If you have a strong preference or need a specific set for a character, a mystery bag might not be your best bet. Also, while the value is guaranteed, you might receive items you already own or don't want.
How to decide which mystery bundle is right for you
- Budget: Choose a bundle that fits your spending comfort. The $50 Mystery Dice Bag Bundle is a great entry point, while the $500 Bahamut bundle is for serious collectors. Start with a lower-priced bundle if you're new to mystery dice.
- Desired contents: If you want gemstone dice, the Mystery Stone Mixed Dice Set is your best bet. If you prefer a mix of materials and accessories, go for a Mystery Dice Bag Bundle.
- Gift vs. personal use: Mystery bundles make excellent gifts because the surprise is part of the present. For personal use, consider whether you enjoy the thrill of the unknown or prefer to pick your own dice. If gifting, choose a bundle at or slightly above the recipient's typical spending level.
